Apple Pear Buckle

1-2 can apple pie filling*
1-2 can pears in light syrup*
1 box yellow cake mix
1 stick of  unsalted butter
1 packet Maple and Brown Sugar instant oats
Cinnamon
cooking spray
paper towels

Spray inside of crock pot. Fill with apple pie filling and pears. (cut up the pears into bite size pieces) Add 1 tsp almond extract. Stir together. Pour the entire box of dry cake mix over the top of the fruity mixture. Do Not stir. The cake mix will absorb the juices from the fruit mixture. Cut stick of butter into pats and drop evenly over the dry cake mix. Sprinkle entire oatmeal packet over butter. Sprinkle almond slices over oatmeal. Cover top of crock pot with 8 paper towels to catch steam/moisture. Place lid on crock pot. Cook on low for 4 to 4 1/2 hours. Do not lift the lid of the crock pot for the first 3 hours or it will not turn out right.
Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped topping.

* I actually like it with more fruit.

Gather ingredients~ I prefer anything on sale, clearanced, or cheap from coupons. I am not picky when it comes to saving money!

Add fruits to greased crockpot/slow cooker

Sprinkle cake mix completely over fruit

Sprinkle oatmeal on top of cake mix

Top with pat of butter (one whole stick)

Sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired

YOU MUST DO THIS!!! Top with 8 paper towels then the lid! The cake will not set if you do not do this!

Serve warm and with vanilla ice cream. YUM!

Enjoy!
