I wanted to share my love for cloth diapers. I never thought I would say that. But I did. I never thought I'd go that far back to my country roots, either. Honestly, look at them. Do they look like what your gramma used? They are adorable, aren't they? Even if you refuse to ever do them, look how cute! In the picture are fabric wipes as well. Mexican Beef Taco Ring

The original recipe calls for chicken and a few more ingredients. I didn't have chicken so I thought I would try something new. Thank goodness, it turned out to be a hit! Pictures are below.

Mexican Beef Taco Ring:
1 lb ground beef or turkey, cooked and drained
1 can green chilies
1 can black olives, chopped (optional)
2 C Mexican Cheese
1/4 C lime juice(or juice from 2 limes)
1 tomato, chopped
2 TBSP taco seasoning
2 cans crescents

2010 Olympics

Last week's tip was about the Olympics. Since they are still going on, I decided to dedicate another week to them. I love the olympics! 
What is your favorite part? I love the ice skating, Jeff hates it. But we all love the snowboarding. My family is into the extreme sports. Make sure you watch the snowboarding competition today!  Shaun White may try his "Double McTwist 1260". Let's see if he can do it!

* have your kids do this in their rooms also!

2010 Vancouver Olympics

I love traditions! And one of our traditions is to have a party for the opening ceremonies for the Olympics. The day of the ceremony, we do crafts, decorate, and play games related to the Olympics. Then that night we eat pizza or something party-like. Then, we watch the ceremony. For the rest of the olympics we have fun watching the sports, keeping track of the medals, and researching about our favorite olympians!

Chocolate Pancakes

Chocolate Pancakes
3/4 C flour
3 TBSP cocoa
1 TBSP baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 TBSP sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 C milk
2 TBSP butter, melted
1/2 Cup mini chocolate chips
Penzey's Raspberry Enlightenment or powdered sugar or whipped cream(opt)

1. Grease griddle.
2. Sift together flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
3. In a mixing bowl, mix sugar, eggs, vanilla, and milk. Pour in the melted butter.
4. Make a well in the flour, and add the wet milk/egg mixture.

I love traditions! And one of our traditions is to have a party for the opening ceremonies for the Olympics. The day of the ceremony, we do crafts, decorate, and play games related to the Olympics. Then that night we eat pizza or something party-like. Then, we watch the ceremony. For the rest of the olympics we have fun watching the sports, keeping track of the medals, and researching about our favorite olympians!

Chocolate Pancakes

Chocolate Pancakes
3/4 C flour
3 TBSP cocoa
1 TBSP baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 TBSP sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 C milk
2 TBSP butter, melted
1/2 Cup mini chocolate chips
Penzey's Raspberry Enlightenment or powdered sugar or whipped cream(opt)

1. Grease griddle.
2. Sift together flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
3. In a mixing bowl, mix sugar, eggs, vanilla, and milk. Pour in the melted butter.
4. Make a well in the flour, and add the wet milk/egg mixture.

Bacon-n-Cheese Chicken Sandwiches

This recipe came from The Pioneer Woman. It's Marlboro Man's second favorite sandwich. You can check hers out. For now, here's mine.

Area Cleaning Feb.1-5 ~ Kitchen/Dining

Kitchen and Dining Room:
M~ declutter tupperware and plastics drawer/cabinet*
T~ declutter dining room (remove things that don't belong)
W~ scrub clean counter tops, remove one thing at a time to make it easier!
T~ clean baseboards in kitchen and dining room with wet rag
F~ sweep, vacuum, mop both areas

 When you are finished, add a candle or red flowers for Valentine's day!
