Easter Basket Ideas

Posted by Holly Nelson on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 Under: Tip of the Week
I don't have a recipe to share today. I have been very sick and not really "with it". And I should be writing the Easter page, but I just haven't felt well.
But today I have to go shopping for a few more Easter basket items. When I had my first baby and started thinking about filling a basket, I didn't want to put the "junk" in there that I've seen other baskets filled with. There are so many holidays and so many ways we can just spoil our kids with "things". I wanted the basket to be about JESUS! After all this holiday is all about HIM! Here are a few of my ideas when I fill the basket. Oh , and I also made their Easter baskets. Now, let me tell you, I am not an artist! I just did this out of determination to get them done in 3 days.  In the picture, there is one I haven't done. He came a few years later! On the inside Is a painting of a tomb with the stone rolled away with a bible verse that states, "The tomb is empty!". The on the outside are the kids names, then "He is Risen!". I used a red/scarlet cord for the trim to represent Jesus shed blood for saving us. The purple crosses represent his royalty.

Easter Basket Ideas:
1. New bible
2. bible cover
3. devotional book
4. notepad
5. highlighters (for Bible)
6. pens/pencils
7. crayons
8. Christian books
9. coloring book (for church bag)
10. playing cards
11. Kite
12. Christian music Cd
13. Christian movie
14. Plastic eggs filled with candy and some with "He is Risen!"
15. Christian shirt
16. Adventures in Odyssey Cd series

Those are just a few. Hopefully soon I will be able to finish the Easter page for you with better pictures!
