Freezer Cooking-Meals and Planning

Posted by Holly Nelson on Friday, April 9, 2010 Under: Freezer Cooking

 Okay, for the first time ever I am going to make and freeze meals. I have always wanted to do this before a baby was born. For one reason or another, I have just not been able to do it. Since, I have done well with my grocery goals and other areas of the budget, I have been able to have enough this week to justify buying another weeks worth($100.00)- money wise. I spent $115.48. Over my regular grocery goal, but I still think that's pretty good.

Here is my list of what I am making tomorrow:
1. Lasagna~ 2 family size
2. Taco Meat~ 2 family size portions
3. Ginger Lime Chicken~ 1 family size for grilling
4. BBQ Chicken Breast~ 1 family size for grilling
5. Maple Soy Pork Chops~ 1 family size for grilling
6. Cheeseburger Pie~1
7. Shepherds Pie~1
8. Chicken Spaghetti~ 2 family size
9. Salisbury Patties~ 8 patties
10. Meatballs~ 2 Family size serving portions
11. Burgers~ 14 patties
12. Meatloaf~ 1 large family size(large enough for leftovers for sandwiches)
13. Banana Bread~1
14. pancakes~ not sure, I'm making the whole box of Hungry Jack to freeze individuals)
15. brownie mix- bought for quick dessert, but will not freeze
16. Cupcakes- bought for quick dessert, but will not freeze
* I also bought a few frozen veggies to complete some of the meals.~ Corn on the cob, corn, peas, carrots, lima beans
* Breakfasts~ 2 cereals
* Lunch~ deli turkey

Meals~ 17 meals!!!!
Breakfast~ 4 or more
Desserts~ 2 ready

I think that is really good for only $115.48!!

 Tomorrow I will be cooking and freezing. I will take pictures of my progress. Somethings may change, but I hope I can keep to the list!
