God's Miracle~ Hours from Death

Posted by Holly Nelson on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 Under: It's a BOYS Life!

Jack started violently screaming and throwing up Thursday. As a mom of 6 kids for 14 years, I had never seen such a thing in my life. I had never seen such agony. And when I saw blood in his diaper I knew it was intestinal.

We spent hours in LeBonheur ER. I was persistent that he was not just dehydrated from a virus. Not that I think I know it all! And I really know nothing at all about medical issues.

I'm just a momma. Momma's just know! And this momma knew. His IV's kept blowing because he was so
dehydrated. Then a nurse, the third one trying to do the IV, finally said what she thought it was....

Intussusception

Once the Doctors diagnosed him they treated him immediately. He was on morphine for the pain. I was in the room as they did the procedure. Never again will I do that! It was too hard on me to see my baby suffer. I rubbed his head and sang Jesus Loves Me, his favorite comfort song. They were basically blowing his intestines up to push the intestines back out, I really thought he was going to explode!

The doctor said this is very rare. But, Jack's condition was much more extensive than they thought. But, finally when it was over, he passed out and slept so peacefully for hours. And I could finally breath.

The doctor thought asked if this was my first I said no. He said he didn't think so. Usually first time parents are anxious and stressed. I was calm. But, it was only because of Christ in me.

You see, there is no need to worry. I know God has everything under control. As much as I love order and neatness in my home. I know ultimately GOD is always in control. I give everything to Him in prayer. He was in control this whole time with Jack.

I have no doubt GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!!

I will try to post pictures of Jack's stay in the hospital on facebook.

Thank you to all who prayed! You are a blessing!
