Making Changes

Posted by Holly Nelson on Monday, January 31, 2011 Under: Frugal Fashionista
I have decided to make a few changes to my blog posts for this year. Blogging is really not my thing. I'm not funny or charming with my posts like the Pioneer Woman, but who can be like her anyway!  I like to add to the website and let you know about it! But I also want to share some great frugal things I have started doing!
I will no longer post the Grocery Cart on Friday. I used to try to make my goal of $75.00. But, I decided I am not going to focus on that. What I really needed to do for my boys is STOCK UP!! If you have raised boys, you know what I mean!

Now, I will focus on COUPONS!! I have become obsessed with my coupons. So much that even one of my sons has a binder and baseball card sleeves for coupons of his own. You might guess that this is my BIG eater, too! ;)
My posts about my great deals I get with coupons will be called "Coupon Crazy". I hope you enjoy reading about my great deals. I also hope it inspires you to do the same!

 Example:
I went to Kroger and spent $100.00 on groceries worth over $200.00! I used coupons in conjunction with sales. I even got toilet paper and toothpaste FREE!!
Later I will give more in depth details. I usually shop the first day of the sales, so it will give you plenty of time to find the coupons and sales so you can save, too!

Frugal Fashionista will be a new post this year, too! I am very excited about this. I was going to start this when I started the website....but, I got pregnant and couldn't really show you. This post will be about how I make outfits frugally! I am not ashamed to admit that I shop at Yard Sales,Goodwill and Salvation Army! I even love hand me downs! I am proud of it! I want to show you that you can look good without spending tons of money. Many of my outfits cost around $10.00. Some are more, some are less. I will model the outfits to show you how I did it. Let me tell you honestly...I am still 35 pounds heavier than my normal weight!! I am not saying I am a great model, just a "keeping it real" type model. Now, really, who is a size 0 anyway? Don't answer that!

This picture was not intended to show off an outfit, but I love to show you this anyway.

Okay, honestly I picked this picture because I think i'ts hilarious and it really was the only good one that shows the outfit!
My family went to see the Singing Christmas Tree at our church Bellevue Baptist Church. I was trying to get a good picture for my mom. I think my hubby snapped about 20pics. As you will see one child is missing. Can you see my eyes perked up? Oh yeah, I was giving one the "momma eyes" for running around.
